bathing in sink
so bathing DS in the infant tub is a PITA now. he can almost sit up on his own, so i want to bathe him in the kitchen sink.
(bathing him in my bathroom is not an option, i have sliding doors so i can't really make it work).
any advice?
i guess the first step would be to get a stopper for the sink that actually works

Re: bathing in sink
They have a sponge-like thing at BRU and BBB that you can use in the sink, to sit the baby on. I have never used it, but my friend swears by it and said it was the only thing she used until her DC was in the big bathtub.

Re: bathing in sink
I don't have any advice other than... please be careful if you have a sprayer attachment and intend on using it. We had a case at work last week where a dad was giving his baby a bath in the sink and apparently there was a problem with the water temp being regulated so when he used the sprayer, it burned the baby on the arm and back. There was no issue of child abuse here- just horrible luck and a faulty temp regulator.
Just a PSA- I will definitely be washing DD in the sink too when she is a bit bigger, but just make sure there aren't any problems with you your water temp and sudden changes.

Re: bathing in sink
I have been using this since birth - just stopped last week & DD is 21 months & about 28 lbs. It fits in the sink great & is easier for us since we have a deep jacuzzi tub that I wanted to wait as long as I could before I had to bathe her in it. Image Attachment(s):

Re: bathing in sink
so.... I think we bathed DD in the sink (we have an oversized one) until she was about 19 months and we moved to a place that didn't have the stupid doors on the bath tub.
she was fine... we just kept the sink super, duper clean and got a good stopper!

Re: bathing in sink
I tired having DS sit in the sink and it ddn't work out that well. He kept grabbing the faucet and trying to climb out. I moved him into the real bath tub and it is so much easier. I have sliding doors too. What about the doors is not working for you?

it's just very tight in there - the end with the faucet is right next to the toilet and there is no room for me to kneel, and i can't reach the faucet from the other end, so i'd have to keep sliding the doors back and forth and i can't do that while holding DS
we have a nice deep sink, and he can't stand yet so we'll try that first.
oh and gabbie thanks for the PSA! we definitely need to watch him, our water gets super hot.

Re: bathing in sink
we've been bathing DS in the kitchen sink from day one. I got a reclining chair like thing for it. DS loves it, plus its a lot easier to use.
You just reminded me, I need to buy a new stopper myself. Thanks!

They have these for $5 at Target-if I lived closer to you I would give you an unopened one I have. I am averse to the Post Office
