Bathing a newborn
When did you start using the newborn tub to bathe DC instead of sponge bathing? DC's cord fell off a few days ago but he still has slight bleeding (which dries up very quickly) every now and then.

Re: Bathing a newborn
I started to use the baby bath tub at 6 weeks. I have a sponge insert in it to support her body and make it more comfortable for her.

Re: Bathing a newborn
I waited a week and 1/2 after the cord fell off because it would still bleed sometimes.
We then gave him a bath in his tub with the newborn sling and he hated it. He cried so much, he was so traumatized. Once we just put him in the water he was fine. My DH would hold him up and i would put a towel under his tushy to make it softer for him.

Re: Bathing a newborn
DS has some slight bleeding a while after his stump fell off. We continued sponge bathing until his doctor's appt. Turns out it didn't heal completely. He had it cauterized & we were able to bath him that day.

same here. Used the bath for a while then my friend introduced me to this lounge type chair that sits in the bathtub. I use that now.... folds up and easier to bath DS. Don't have to clean up or fill the tub. The lounge chair sits in the tub and folds up

Re: Bathing a newborn
Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to call the ped to check about the belly button and the slight bleeding just to be sure if I can bathe him in the tub now.
