Bassinet or Not
I did not register for a bassinet because I felt I would just use the one in the pack and play. However, now I am thinking that I would want the pack and play downstairs (our basement is finished and we hang out there a lot). I don't want to bring the pack and play up to my bedroom and then downstairs each day and night. Do you think I should get a small bassinet or travel crib for my room and put the pack and play downstairs?

Re: Bassinet or Not
I got the eddie bauer bassinet, and my son outgrew it in about 2 weeks...his hands would hit the sides and he would wake right up...we now got one of those smaller play pens (so that it would fit by our bed), and we love it.

Re: Bassinet or Not
I would recommend getting both, personally. We have the bassinet in our bedroom, and that's where Lily sleeps at night (when she sleeps at night ). We also have the pack n' play downstairs in the tv room, as that's where she spends her days. I didn't feel like bringing her upstairs during the day when she napped...and I don't like to keep her in the bedroom at night when she's fussy, because Tom has to get his sleep so he can go to work. It's been working out really well for us this way, because we spend more time downstairs in the tv room, than we do in our bedroom, so I could see that working for you two as well. Come on by this week, and I'll show you how we have it all set up .

ITA.
I thought I was going to do the bassinet in the pnp, but my mom suprised me wiht a bassinett at my shower and we LOVE it. The one in the pnp is perfect for naps, but honestly, it isn't very comfortable....ours is very large, which is good b/c he is going to be in there until he is 4 months b/c we have a room ac and he doesn't

Exactly the same thing. After a couple hot nights of dragging the giant PNP upstairs and downstairs the next morning we went out and bought a bassinet.

THe Pack and play was huge in our room. We ended up getting a bassinet b/c of the space the PNP took up...BUT now the baby sleeps in the swing..LOL

Re: Bassinet or Not
I have a bi level house and there's no way in the meantime til DD or #2's PNP i would bring up and down.
For DD i used the Graco Travel LIte Crib in my bedroom til she was 8 weeks old, then when she went into her crib at that age, for when I showered, needed to put her down etc. I have a full size PNP with changing table on my first floor.
Def get both. I would get something that serves for after use of the bassinet. Just bassinet, IMO are totally wastes when the baby outgrows it.
Here is the Graco Travel lite crib, I have it in windsor

Re: Bassinet or Not
If I were to register all over again I would choose not to put a bassinet on it. My DD hates her bassinet. She would only sleep in her bouncy seat in the beginning. She now just started to sleep in her crib at a little over 2 months old.
Some babies like bassinets others do not. I just feel bad having one that she didn't even use. What a waste of my SILs $$.

Re: Bassinet or Not
I live in a small apt. The baby's room was the guest room, so I moved his crib into my room for the first few months. His pnp was in the living room. no bassinet.

Re: Bassinet or Not
We registered for that huge Graco pack n play in Devon. I'm pretty sure it will fit in our bedroom and we'll just use that as the bassinet.

I registered for this too. However, now I am thinking I am better off having this in another part of the house and something small in my bedroom.
