Bare Minerals users

I'm kind of new to using these and I wanted to know if you have a trick to keeping all the powders from getting all over the place. I have make up everywhere from the freaking swirl tap whatever method. LOL Do you not put them in the lids of the jars? I can not stand having to clean even more from my make up. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Bare Minerals users

I don't swirl vigorously. And I don't tap - I lightly blow on it into the air.

Re: Bare Minerals users

how much product are u using??? u shouldn't be using any more than a pea-size amount per application layer..maybe that's the problem? Putting it into the cap is key in getting it to look the way it should..the swirling actually tucks the minerals INSIDE of the brush & allows it to be buffed on, which heat activates & smoothes the minerals..to me u just dont get as flawless of an application if u dont use ur lid.. I swirl pretty violently lol...if ur seeing a huge puff of minerals come out i would say u're using too much product... if it's more or less just gradually building up in ur makeup area - it's just the downside of the product.Chat Icon i know it stinks, but to me it's worth it! i just put a towel down where i do my makeup, fold it up daily, and at the end of each week I throw it in the wash..

Re: Bare Minerals users

Yeah, you might be putting too much in the lid. You need to keep swirling so that ALL of it is in the brush. When I tap, I tap the root of the bristles instead of the brush handle.

Also, and FYI for anyone planning on making the switch to BM, Sephora's starter kit has soo much more stuff in it than mine did when I first discovered it years ago, including the primer, which I love...
