Baptism help

UPDATE: I didn't realize I could also have it November 20. I think I'm going to do this. It doesn't matter that it's the week of Thanksgiving right??



Baby girl will be here any day now. I'm trying to decide whether we should have her baptism Nove 13 or Jan 22.

Ideally, I'd like to do it when she is 3 months, but December is a crazy month with the holidays so I'd figured it'd be easier before Thanksgiving or late Jan when all the craziness is ending.

My only concern with Nov is she probably wont have her vaccinations yet..she'll be almost 2 months, and it makes me nervous having her around so many people. Am I being neurotic and paranoid?

The concern with Jan is bad weather, but that can happen anytime I guess.

Thoughts?

hmmmm....how about first week of December...right before it gets really busy?


Im a September mommy but will be taking the unconventional route. He will have a joint baptism/1st birthday party.

My second choice for you would be November. There are quite a few mommies on here who baptized very early.

Im just worried that it will be a harsh winter for the Jan date? What if it snows a foot that day, ya know?

I did the baptism for DS when he was 7 weeks. It was mid October last year. I didn't even think about waiting until he got more shots, he gets shots every visit, so you could say that about any sickness that he hasn't got the shot for yet. I was like you and wanted to do it before Thanksgiving and Christmas and wanted it to still be nice enough outside. In the end though, you need to do what you feel comfy with.

Yeah, I'm definitely worried about a snowstorm with the Jan date.

The first week in Dec might work. I'm too indecisive!

You dont think the first week of December will be too hectic for people? It's such a busy and expensive time..

We are doing ours November 13th. That's my vote, I think it's far enough away from the holidays.

It's an expensive time all year around its seems like lately

That weekend is the 3rd-4th....Most holiday parties, school events, etc...don't necessarily start till mid December....

Just send out invites extra early so people can budget. And no matter what date you choose family and close friends would never think it would be a hassle
