Baptism Gift

What can I give alongside money? I was thinking something personalized. At first i was thinking a piggy bank but DD was gifted 4 of them and we don't use a single one. I feel that might be silly. I've never been to a baptism before and I am of a different faith so I am clueless as to what would be nice.

I just had my son's baptism and we got all cash and checks. I was actually kinda bummed not to get anything baptism related like a frame or something. Ha. I'm gonna buy a baptism frame from Khols. So maybe a personalized baptism frame would be nice. Very nice of you to want to buy something special.

My son got a little blue cross. We hung it up in his room.

My best friend's son was just christened and we have him a snow globe from things remembered. It has a little boy praying inside and engraved with his name and date. They have a bunch of different religious items, check out thingsremembered.com

My sister got my son a personalized pottery barn stroller blanket. I like it because he can actually use it. Other smaller trinket gifts, IMO are a waste. Like you, we got piggy banks and they just sit and collect dust.

Re: Baptism Gift

Often times for baptisms or new babies I order these along with another gift and/or money. I love them, and all the parents I've given them to love them Chat Icon

Baptism Gift

DS' baptism was yesterday, he received all cards. We are assuming checks/cash in them, but it is a tradition/superstition for DH (don't know if it is a Chinese thing or just a DH thing) to not open that day, and sleep with it under your pillow (we put them in a box beside DS' crib) for at least 1 night. The only person who gave him an actual gift were his godparents (my brother & SIL) who gave him his cross.... which is GORGEOUS BTW, gold cross and white gold Jesus.

We got mostly money. Some outfits, picture frames, precious moment statues... I personally hate having too many chotchskies around, especially when they don't match my house and I have no where to put them. So I'd prefer an outfit or jewelry if you don't want to give money/gift card. But everyone is different.
