Re: Baptism...
We have a huge family - so really our immediate family will be about 75-80 people. If we start throwing friends into the mix the count would be well over 125. I think that's just too much for me for a Christening. I was just going to do immediate family and then a huge bash for the 1st birthday party!

Re: Baptism...
we are doing Family- some friends.. we both have big families soo it would be about 80 people.. or more. We are thinking of having it at a catering hall where we had our engagement party- stil looking at other places though.

Re: Baptism...
For Molly I had about 25 people...that was just immediate family and a few friends. We just couldn't afford a huge blown out party. I did it in a resturant. Molly was also 8 weeks old. I did a bigger 1st birthday party.
For Jason we will have a larger party but not a huge party. Again, immediate family and a few friends in a resturant. It helps that DH's family is all far away and often only his brother/girlfriend, one sister/husband and mom come to our stuff.

Re: Baptism...
We'll probably do family and a few friends from the neighborhood. I'd love to have everyone out on our terrace - maybe 30-40 people - but if it rains we wont fit in our apartment - so we'll probably have it in a restaurant nearby.

Re: Baptism...
This is going to be a toughie. I am not Catholic, but DH is. I was baptised, so we got married in church, but I do nto want to "Christen" my children.. We are going to have a baptismal, but more of a non-denominational one rather than a dedication of life to christ & religion. DHs family does not know yet, and I can tell you it will NOT be pretty. SO although we are planning on having a big thing, I am sure ALOT of his family will "boycott" b/c we are not having it in a church.
This has been one of my greatest fears since we found out we were PG. It actually took me a while to convince DH, but tradition dictates the baby takes the mother's religion. I do think though that it is important for every person/child to make an educated choice when it comes to their religion, so my baby will be very well educated on all of the various religions when the time comes.
