Bank tellers thankful to be alive after dramatic Great Neck robbery

Play the video (11/19/06) GREAT NECK - Two bank tellers are thankful to be unharmed Sunday after being tied and locked up by a brazen bandit.

Just after noon, two bank robbers stormed Movtady's Golden First Bank on Grace Avenue. The owner, David Movtady says the thugs tied up two female tellers and locked them in the vault. Cell phones in the vault allowed the tellers to call the police. Lauren Nassimi works at a clothing store next door. She says cops swarmed the bank by air and on the ground with K-9 units within minutes.

Cops combed downtown Great Neck looking for the two suspects. However, police say the robbers made a clean getaway. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Great Neck Police Department.

The punchline....Dh and I walked right past and did not even notice the bank was open but minus tellers. Chat Icon
