I'm hesitant, but my 4 year old is intetested in Ballet classes. After sharing my concerns about dance with a close friend who used to do ballet as a kid she recommended I look for a studio that uses dance as an artful expression and not so much as a "beauty pageant" mentality. Something that is fun and no skimpy outfits or music not appropriate for a child and no pressure (including body image issues). My apologies but I remember a u tube video years ago with little girls in makeup and basically sequinned bra and panties dancing to some very inappropriate music. I think my DD is in it for a pink tutu but its something to try.


I appreciate hearing some success stories from mom's who are happy with the classes their kids are attending. Thanks in advance if you have a place you can recommend..
