Balance Tranfers before ReFi?
Is it bad to do this prior to refinancing?

yes- do not open any new cards when in the process of applying for a mortgage
do not buy a car, do not do anything that you don't normally do
wait till after closing

Whewwwww...i didnt...but came close to doing a balance transfer.
BUT...I did neglect tos ay that we didnt start the process of refi'ing tho...plan to in the next few weeks, but was apprehensive still.

Thank everyone! I am so glad I didnt act impulsively. The guy on the phone told me it wouldnt hurt...but of corse he wanted credit for the trransaction and at the last minute I said you know what...let me hold off!!
