Baking what am I doing wrong?
I am trying to make sugar cookies and I followed recipe to the exact measurements and they are puffing up in the oven.
This is the 2nd time I tried to bake them and the same thing happened the last time. I tried adjusting the temp to 325 instead of 350 but didnt work.
What else could I be doing wrong?
Thanks

What do you mean they are puffing up in the oven? They get a little puffy in the oven, but once you take them out to cool, they should flatten back down. Sugar cookies do spread though, so they'll be larger when they're baked than they were when you put them in the oven.

When I make sugar cookies, I have always chilled the dough first.
Do you have an oven thermometer to make sure the temp is good?
Also, make sure you have fresh flour and baking soda/powder - whatever the leavening agent is.
Good luck!

I agree with either putting them in the fridge for 15 minutes or the freezer for 5. Also, if you have the option on your oven for convention bake or bake, use the bake setting. I noticed when I used convention bake while baking anything, it puffed up a lot in the center. I switched to bake and now it comes out perfect.
