Baked a cake - now a question!

I made a cake for DH's birthday (on Sunday). The cake has cooled. Do I frost it today or wait until Sunday? I am using jarred frosting (not sure if that makes a difference). Also, how do I store the cake until then?

Thanks!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would wait to frost in the day of. I think the frosting would "cake" to much if you did it now

Thanks, that was what I was thinking too. I am going to refrigerate the cake until we are ready to frost it...

definitely agree. cover it in plastic wrap or foil. frosting will harden if you frost and cool it today.

I would either wrap the cake in plastic wrap and then frost it the day of, or frost it now and keep it covered until the day of.

Thanks ladies. I will take it out of the fridge then. Hopefully it is ok! It was covered (I have one of those wilton covered cake pans) but maybe I will still wrap it in plastic anyway.
