Bad News I think

Went to the doctor today and I think there is something wrong with my peanut. The lady wasn't nice or helpful so I am just feeling very upset now.

Had my first appt last week with GYN and found out she no longer does OB. They did blood work and an ultrasound and she said I was about 6 weeks. This does not match my date based on last AF - July 3rd. She wanted me to come back today to confirm the baby was growing.

I had another sono today with a sono tech - no doctor - was told doc would call tomorrow. It looks like I am still only about 6 weeks 5 days. She did see a heartbeat flicker.

I am thinking this is not good news. Back dating this, it puts me getting pregnant on July 23rd. Isn't it always 2 weeks ahead of when you actually conceived? If that is the case, then I would have needed to conceive on Aug 6th which is impossible because we didn't babydance a week before or after that date.

I will have to wait for doc to call me tomorrow, but I am thinking this is not good.

Sorry you're going through this. I think the calculating days thing is really confusing. There are lots of stages in the process where you can be a few days off (ovulating late, implanting late, sono measurements can be off several days one way and then another). It's definitely scary. At least you got some good news that they saw the heartbeat and that there has been growth from last week. Hopefully your dr and future monitoring will all bring better news.

The fact that the tech was able to tell you the baby's size & that they saw a flicker seems like good news.. I would have been nervous if the tech said nothing at all. I would think positive

For the baby to grow 5 days worth in approx a week and see a heartbeat sounds like good news.

I was confused by what you wrote about getting pregnant on July 23 but conceiving on August 6th since that's the same thing on two different dates. At 6 weeks, 5 days you are about a week earlier in your pregnancy than me. So taking off a week from when I conceived, I'd say you O'd around July 23-25 if the baby is growing on track. Did you anytime between July 21 and July 25?

I am not an expert by any means, but isn't it possible that the baby is just measuring small?

For starters, they backdate it to your LMP because most people don't know their date of conception. Maybe you ovulate a little later in your cycle, also?

I wouldn't worry just yet.

My baby's size isn't matching my lmp either. If you see heartbeat and baby has grown btwn sonos I would advise not stressing. You have another sono scheduled? Did u get bloodwork results?

It's not always 2 weeks. That is only if your cycle is 28 days EVERY month. My cycles were always longer, so I never went by that. You measured 6 weeks last week and 6 weeks 5 days this week, so that's good. The baby is growing.
