Bad experience with Zantac?
My 8 week old was put on Zantac for her reflux and she was very uncomfortable when being burped and spitting up. She's been on the Zantac a week and I almost feel like its worse. She seems just as uncomfortable or even more and she's been spitting up a lot more since taking it. Has anyone had a bad experience with it? If so, what was done instead?

DS was on Zantac but before that we change from similac advanced to sensitive. He did well on the sensitive and zantac combined. Did your ped change your DD formula?

Maybe she needs to be on a higher dose...same thing happened when DS was on it and now with DD2 until the dose was adjusted.

I'm going through that right now. My doc just upped his dose to 3x a day from 2x.

What is her weight and dose? DD began at .7ml 2x per day around 9lb and then it was upped at just under 11lb to 1ml 2x per day. He is prob 12-12.5lb now and I think she needs more. Tons of spit up the past 36 hours. Only happens when she needs to be upped.

Did they check her for milk protein? My dd was on similac advance bur started arching while eating but slept pretty much the rest of the time except for crying for a few burps and spitting up out of her nose. They put her on axid and switched her to sensitive which worked for a few days but she started arching again. Then I put her on alimentum and shes been fine ever since. the GI tested her poops and there was blood traces so it was milk protein. They said she didnt need zantac because she didnt have bad colicky reflux but she was on axid and malox until about 4 mo. until she outgrew the refluxy stuff.
