Bad experience at Levittown Stop & Shop rant
I went to this Stop & Shop after work (was in Wantagh) and I cannot believe how rude and obnoxious every single person was. Literally jumping in front of me while I pick out my yogurt. Pretty much every stop I made, I was swarmed with people trying to get the item before me. One woman with the kiddie car cart ramming into me, not once or even just twice, but multiple times WITHOUT an "oh I'm sorry, excuse me". Nothing. nada. Like my heel wasn't just skinned by your cart - AGAIN!
WTF is it with people? I just kept thinking they are like animals in here. I will never go back there again. I can't control my anger when around people who are this rude. It was about to get ugly, so I cut my trip short. 
I'm sticking to my local Stop & Shop from now on!

The past few times I've been have been nuts too, its my normal store and I've been shocked at the crazy ness ..my guess is all the snow..

Now I have had the opposite experience at the S&S by me......usually the customers are pleasant (even before a storm), but it's many of the employees who are arses.
I refused to go in S&S all summer long because of the employees this past year.

I wonder if people were edgy because of the incident on Bloomingdale Road- Island Trees MS is practically next door. Anyway, that really sucks and I hope it was a one-time thing. Though that parking lot always makes me cringe- I have not been in the store in a long time but I go to Target when I'm visiting my mom.

That happens whenever I go to the Trader Joes in Merrick or Plainview. Multiple people actually body checked me once at the Plainview Trader Joes when the sample lady came out. My son was only a few months old and in the stroller and no one seemed to care that they just rammed a baby out of the way, I mean come on the samples were out lol. I can't go there anymore. I get that the store is crowded and tiny and the aisles are small but that's no excuse to act like an animal and if you happen to bump into someone, which is bound to happen in a store that size, then say sorry. Is that so hard?

I've had that at Trader Joe's in Merrick and the new one in Westbury.
That's a terrible parking lot and the people in that Target are often rude, which is a shame since I think it's a really good Target

That's the Stop and Shop right by my house so i go there. It's always like that- people are so crazy and rude. I will only go there first thing in the morning when it empty or do peapod.

Thats the one I go to also, and its pretty typical. People take up the middle of the aisles with their carts so you have to ask them to move, they walk so slow and just dont get out of the way. Its like they're the only ones who exist in the supermarket. I was there yesterday and almost got hit twice in the parking lot because people dont look.

ITA i just think people are rude in general. Thats why I try to go shopping at times where its a bit less crowded (I will usually go on Friday nights).

I'm not making excuses but that area was in kind of a tizzy yesterday because of the shooting. The school right next door was on a lock-out and parents were a bit crazed trying to get to their kids.

I go to this Stop and Shop weekly, never had a problem with anyone but the obnoxious bakery manager who follows us around trying to give us cookies all the time. Sounds nice, but she's rude and a little creepy.

The Waldbaum's in Great Neck on Mill Neck Road is like that too! Holy Jesus, such rude patrons! I would only go there if it was absolutely necessary.

Honestly, I understand it was a scary situation there at that time, but that's really no excuse to be douchey. And from what others are saying here, it looks like it's like this most of the time.
I learned my lesson. I'm sticking with my S&S here in W. Islip. Which has been a little more crazy since king kullen closed, but the people aren't rude. We all hate food shopping. No need to take it out on everyone around you.
