backyard B-Day party...10 kids...do i need entertainment?
i want to have DS's 1st bday in my backyard. currently the guest list is 40 adults and 10 kids ranging from ages 1-9. do i need to hire entertainment?
we're on a tight budget. any other ideas of what i could do to keep them busy?

do you have outdoor toys? based on the ages, you could pick up some hula hoops, bubble sets and maybe set up a craft. i don't always think entertainment is necessary, esp in a backyard!

i was thinking teh same, usually kids just run around with balls or whatever lol. thanks for the cost efficient ideas!

I've been pondering the same thing. We have a pool and I'm thinking the kids will mostly be in the pool, so I doubt we'll be getting entertainment. I will also be getting bubbles, ball and bat, coloring books, and some kits to keep the kids busy. I don't think it will be an issue.

For DD's first bday (almost a YEAR ago  ) we did hire entertainment, but we also had a few "stations". I went to the dollar tree and got tons of coloring books, stickers, crayons, hula hoops, balls etc...and I made the party SHORT. That helped too! lol.

I have the same amount of kids and I'm not doing entertainment. I'm going to get some coloring books, outdoor toys, etc.

This year we are having a joint party for the boys and we have 30 kids and entertainment.
Next year we plan to do a simple backyard bbq type party with no entertainment and around 10 kids only.
I don't think you need entertainment.
