Back from our NC trip with some questions.

We wanted some input on the Wake Forest area. We fell in love with a neighborhood there that is growing quickly. I just don't want to count all my chickens just yet.

Are there any other areas in NC that anyone would recommend that is family oriented and you can get alot for your money? We are looking at 2700 sq. ft. and around $325 with upgrades on 1/3 acre.

TIA! Any input is appreciated!!!

Don't know much about Wake Forest. We have friends that live by Lake Norman and love it.

We didn't even see Lake Norman on our map, it must be far from our area...I will check it out. Thanks!

Re: Back from our NC trip with some questions.

I'm In High Point NC and it is very family oriented here.

The Wintson-Salem area is nice, the majoritiy of it is kinda ghetto (IMO)

They are starting to build it up, but its in the VERY early stages.

I would look at some other areas that are close to Winston like, High Point, & Greensboro. There is a TON of new communities everywhere, and of course older ones...but everything here is already in the final stages of being buillt up and there are a ton of NYers here. and we are close to ev erything. I love it

We are all entitled to opinions, but I live in Winston Salem and am a bit offended by you calling it ghetto. I moved here in July and I LOVE IT! I don't think it is ghetto at all. Yes there are pockets of not so nice areas, but they are everywhere including High Point. I live in the Mt. Tabor area of Winston Salem which is a great school district and has very $$$$$ houses. About 5 minutes from me is a high class community with a lake and gorgeous homes. If that is considered ghetto, then I want to live there. I don't think the original poster was talking about Winston, though. Yes Wake Forest University is in Winston Salem which has a beautiful campus, but the town Wake Forest is a very nice area around Raleigh. I don't know much about the Raleigh area, but it seems very nice and I know a lot of Long Islanders live there. If you have any questions about Winston Salem, please feel free to FM me.

Re: Back from our NC trip with some questions.

We just moved to Charlotte from NY in Aug. and the homes are extremely reasonable. We just haven't really made amove yet becuase we just had a baby. From what we know, the homes are so cheap compared to NY and you get alot for your money.

like I said it was my opinion and Yes ALL areas have their pockets...don't get offended. and Yes the areas that surround WFU are beautiful, IMHO WS went to from REALLY nice houses to not so nice too quickly and I didn't like that. and again, JMO. Chat Icon
