Back from Level II-update
It was so awesome to see the baby again. I was tormented over this appointment because I started to think that maybe I should find out the sex of the baby. Dh really wants to know the sex, so it made it hard for me. However, I held out...I am choosing to be surprised! It was a hard choice! I feel bad cause Dh is bummed!
ETA: Dh seems pretty upset about not finding out. I wish he would have made it more clear that he was going to be upset. Now I feel like I made the wrong decision.

He has to remember that it's a decision to be made by the TWO of you - and ultimately (at least in my opinion) the decision should be left up to you - as you get to carry the baby around for the 9 months!

Re: Back from Level II-update
Don't sweat his "disappointment." As a first time dad and with all the technology out there, many of them lose sight of the precious goal, your baby. They are concerned with knowing EVERYTHING possible. At one point, my DH asked me why they weren't doing a sono at EVERY visit! I am due in 4 weeks and mine STILL complains about not finding out. Mainly b/c it limited shopping choices and the whole name debate was harder since you have to agree on 2 names. Once, I explained to him how when the baby is born, he gets to call (and to anyone in the waiting room, run out) everyone and tell them: the sex, the name, the weight, the length, hair color....ALL the sweet details are his for the telling. I also told him how amazing it is to find out AT birth (this is my 2nd, our 1st) and what a precious moment it truly is to share that moment. He seemed to understand more and even seemed to feel "privileged" that this is HIS thing to share. He still makes the occsional comments, but I've learned to ignore them.
A healthy baby is far more important than knowing if it's a girl or boy!

Re: Back from Level II-update
You can always find out what the sex of the baby is...if you really want to know or if you and your DH decide that now you want to know, at your next appt, you can ask. The Dr already knows so they can tell you....you wont have the excitement of seeing it on the sono, but you will have the knowledge. It is hard to NOT find out...we made the decision to not find out, and some days, I think it would be easier to know if it was a boy or girl, but in the long run, I know I will be happy when he/she is born and the big announcement is made!

yup, your doc can tell even if you dont want to know if the baby lets tehm get a good view. Mine always has her legs open so I dont think we would have had a choice.
