Babysitter issues...
My babysitter just told me that she's just feeding DD NOW at 3:00 for the second time today. The last time she ate was 9:30 a.m. That's 5 1/2 hours. The babysitter is well aware that I have DD on a 4-hour feeding schedule but she prefers to feed DD on demand. She says that DD didn't want the bottle earlier, which I don't believe for a second. I have asked her before to stick to the schedule but she just doesn't. Am I wrong for being totally pizzed??
I swear, every weekend I feel like I don't even know my child. We had such a regular routine when I was home and now everything is so different. I feel like everything is a struggle with this damn babysitter. She changes her nap schedule, changes how much formula she feeds DD, warms the bottles when I haven't been warming them, she's even criticized the hat DD was wearing a few weeks ago... she makes me feel like because this is my first that nothing I say compares with her 'experience.' I thought having a babysitter and a friend of the family watch DD would be better but I'm really starting to think that I wouldn't get this BS in a daycare center.

Personally.....I don't think you need that from you sitter. You should be happy and feel secure in the way they care for your child.

That's BS - I would look around for other childcare if I were you.

Re: Babysitter issues...
Sorry you are going through this Rebecca, it's one of the downfalls of having someone you know watch your child. My mom watches my daughter 2 days a week for 4 hours a day and the other days my daughter is in day care for 4 hours. On the days that my mom has her I constantly feel like I have to explain myself, justify the reason we didn't do things the way they did when we were little etc, but when I pick dd up at daycare or leave them with directions they are done. The days that she is home with my mom I never have to think twice about her safety and while I don't have to worry about it too much the days that she is in daycare I still don't "know" those people, its definitely a trade off.
Tell her she needs to follow your schedule because its the schedule that works best for your family period and that when she mess it up it mess up the rest of Elizabeth's and your day.

ummmm...no way! You are the mom so what you say goes for your daughter. I don't care how much experience she has...she has zero zilch nada experience with YOUR baby!
She needs to follow your schedule as best as she can. It's one thing if your daughter is sleeping and the schedule shifts a little another thing if she is purposely changing things.
It's not her place to decide what is best for your child.

I am so angry for you. You have every right to feel upset.
This is also my concern, that they take my child from what little routine he has.
I also think that the day care wouldn't give you such bs and that might be an option. Since it's a friend of the family, then by all means, speak up and let them know how you feel. I think that some "experienced" moms think we newbies (like my mom, for example) don't know our azz from our elbow, but we do know our babies and what works for our children.

Re: Babysitter issues...
I babysit as well. I babysit for a family member. When I babysit, I consider myself "working" and my family member is kind of like my boss. We seperate our "friendship from business" so to speak. What the babies parents say, goes. This is their child. If they have questions, of course I'll answer. Honestly, if I were you, I'd look for another sitter. I'm sorry but I would not put up with that if DS had to be with a sitter.

Re: Babysitter issues...
That is completely unacceptable. I know childcare is hard to find but I think you need to look further.
