Baby's weight
I am currently 32w5d at my last visit which was last Thursday my OB said I have a small baby. My baby is weighing a little over 3lbs and my OB predicts she will be about 7lbs at the time of birth.
My cousin who is due the same day as me went to her OB recently and told her the baby was a little over 4lbs.
My doctor didn't seem worried at all. I just noticed another girl on here due about a week and a half before me was told her baby is over 4lbs as well.
Should I be concerned?

Re: Baby's weight
My babies were small too. no worries. some of us just have smaller babies than others. so long as your baby is healthy, it's not a problem!

Re: Baby's weight
I wouldn't be. 7lbs is a great birth weight! Babies range from 6lbs (or less) to 10lbs (or more) so you can't expect to the baby to weighing the same as other's babies at the 8 month mark. I would be excited that the baby is little - easier delivery!
My belly is small for 34 wees, but my OB has not made any guesses at the weight. I'm hoping small belly = small baby!!

Re: Baby's weight
I wouldnt worry about it, your baby is not measuring a lot smaller, and if your dr isnt worried, then I dont see it as a problem.
Dh was 12lbs at birth, we were expecting a monster baby, 4.5 lbs was a very nice surprise today.

Re: Baby's weight
2 weeks ago (26 weeks) was guesstimated to be measuring 3lbs 2oz. Sounded heavy to me so I asked my midwife. She said that his weight was perfect in comparison to his gestational age.

Re: Baby's weight
When I went to my ob for my 32 week visit, he said the baby was about 3 and a half pounds. I delivered 5 days later and DD was 4, 14.
I don't think the measurments they take are very accurate and I wouldn't pay them any mind

Re: Baby's weight
Just so you know, 2 of us on the Parenting board were due 4 days apart. My baby was measuring big and her baby was measuring small. I gave birth to an 11 1/2 pound baby and she gave birth to a 5 pound 10 oz baby. They were both very healthy at birth and still are 8 months later.

Re: Baby's weight
One of my co-workers said that with her daughter she measured a little over 3 pounds when she was about 38 weeks. She went into labor 2 days after that sono and the baby was over 7 pounds.
The sonos can be very wrong so try not to stress over it.
