Baby's Going Home Outfit...
Anyone else not getting a fancy fancy outfit? DH and I are both HUGE yankee fans and they will be born right before Yankee spring training. Wanted them to leave hospital in cute Yankee outfits we have. Is that non kosher?? I've seen women use cashmere sweater sets....but I'm thinking it will be March anyway and they will be covered with a BundleMe. Any help?!?!?Dont want my little boys feeling like paupers while kids leave in cashmere LOL(anyone watch Seinfeld?)

i dunno the sex yet, but i did see a few "non-traditional" outfits that i absolutely love (along the same lines that you're talking about). as we get closer and depending on the sex, we'll pick out the outfit, but i'm pretty sure it's not going to be cashmere. go with what you like.

Re: Baby's Going Home Outfit...
Personally I've never seen any baby in a cashmere sweater set.
DS wore home little overalls and a sweater my grandmother made me when I was baby.
They will get changed when they get home anyway.

Re: Baby's Going Home Outfit...
I am planning on bringing home in a yellow long sleeved onesie with feet...its covered in x's and o's like hugs and kisses and has a matching blanket and cap.
DH and I both fell in love with it at BBB and put it on our registry. Its already been bought so hopefully it will be what baby is in coming home.

My babies are coming home in footie pajamas. I dont see a need to put them in a special outfit, especially because we don't know what size they will need. I have both NB and preemie sizes packed.

Re: Baby's Going Home Outfit...
LOLthankyou all!! I had NEVER seen cashmere either until I was in a boutique in Babylon and the lady made me sound like an alien for not wanting to shell out 189.99-times 2 of course for us- for a coming home outfit that I know they would never wear again and will be covered up in carseat....and its not like we are the kinda peopl who even own our OWN cashmere LOL!..I think we are gooing to stick to the Yankee theme.....i'd rather look back years from now and remember the adorable little pinstripes then some sweater set..... i DO get the idea of having them wear a family made sweater and hat..thats adorable but again not really our style.....thanks ladies!another thing off the checklist

DS didn't wear anything fancy- just a little top with a stork on it and little striped shorts. It was NB, but way too big anyway.
I think the Yankees outfit sounds adorable!

Just to let you know-- someone said on a post a few days ago that hospitals don't let you leave with the baby in a bundleme. I don't know if all hospitals do this, but you should check before using it as an alternative to warmer clothes.
