Baby's 1st cold, do I call the ped?
She has a runny nose and a dainty little cough. Mucous is clear, no fever and normal energy and behavior. It started Saturday afternoon and hasn't gotten worse. Should I call the ped?
TIA

For a cold and acting fine I wouldn't, but keep an eye on it. Doesn't hurt to call the Ped's office to get some advise though.
Just keep her comfy... elevate her head humidifier nasal spray and suck out the boogies steamy bathroom to help with the congestion keep taking her temp to make sure she doesn't get a fever keep washing her hands and face not to pass on germs
Hope she feels better! Everyone in my house is sick. It's the season. At least till Spring

I wouldn't.....sounds like she is just a little under the weather. Just keep an eye on her. If she gets worse, or you get nervous, it can never hurt to give the ped a call! Hope she feels better soon!

Thanks MaryBeth. Dd won't let me use the nasal aspirator. And it's such a fight just to wipe her nose. She is a tough cookie at 10.5 months!

Re: Baby's 1st cold, do I call the ped?
i dont think it's necessary (not that i'm an expert lol). dd had her first cold when she was 5 weeks old, and I did call the ped because I was freaking because she was just so little. the ped didn't tell me anything that hasn't already been mentioned by the PP's. i know it's hard to hear the dainty little cough but she will be better before you know it. it took about 4-5 days for DD to ride it out. i just kept checking her temp every diaper change and used the cool mist humidifier like crazy. she wouldn't let me use the aspirator either but she was fine. i tried "boogie wipes" and they helped a little. hope she feels better!

Same here. I had taken DD to the ped just to check her ears (because DS always had infections) and they were clear.
Basically do everything Erica said. My ped also suggested using the baby vicks rub, but to put some on the top of her PJs. It's definitely working.

Oh, that's right. The Vicks works great. I put it on my 2 yr old, but for the baby I put some on his PJ's too. Get the Vicks plug-ins for at night. Works great. Between the humidifier and the Vicks I'd walk into DS's room in the morning and I clear up from all the vapor smell
