Re: baby shower timing

im due July 24th (now bumped up to July 17th) and my shower was June 21st... i dont think there is any "rule" about how far in advance it needs to be... that happened to be the only date that really worked for everyone... we also really didnt have room for all of the stuff in our house yet because we have been doing work on it... but if we had the baby room ready to go, i would have liked it to be a bit earlier so i could have set stuff up while i had more energy...

Re: baby shower timing

I am due Sept 3rd and my shower is August 3rd. I think it just depends on how you are feeling. I thought mine was a bit late, but its the only date that worked for everyone.

Re: baby shower timing

Re: baby shower timing

I had a list of dates that I thought were good. My shower will be on 9/13 as that is the last weekend I requested. I'll be 32-33 weeks by then. It's a little late but I am fine with it and didn't want it any later.

Re: baby shower timing

My shower will be a surprise, but if I had to guess, my family would do it in early November because they wouldn't want to interfer with the Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Years rush. So, that being said, I'll be around 7 months.

Re: baby shower timing

i think around 33 weeks is a good time, you are still comfortable enough to return gifts and set up if needed.

Re: baby shower timing

We're due the same week and I'm hoping mine can be in early October. I really don't want to be huge and uncomfortable for it but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Re: baby shower timing

Anytime that fits your schedule is good. For comfort reasons, my suggestion would be to plan it as close to 30 weeks as possible. The later you go, the more tired and uncomfortable you may be. My family has a lot of events coming up in Sept so I am hoping that it will be Aug 24th. I will be almost 31 weeks then and will probably still be comfy in my skin. The only other available Sunday is Sept 14th and that is our 1 year Anniversary. I want to go away that weekend!!

I am due October 4th and my sprinkle is on August 16th. I am doing it when I am am 33 weeks because I have 2 little ones already, and I will need time to sort through everything and to get the nursery ready afterwards.

Re: baby shower timing

Mine was when I was 32 weeks. I was exhausted afterwards. I think it would have been better between 28-30 weeks.

Well Im due at the end of Jan, but plan on having it at the beginning of Nov. I also live in NC and would have to fly up to NY, since all family and friends are there. I need to be able to fly so we are doing it a bit earlier.
