Baby Shower Gift
Any suggestions for a (last minute) baby shower gift...non-registry type gift, as I'm way too late to get anything good from the registry. Has to be something I can buy in a store on LI. Thanks!

Baby Shower Gift
I would put together a cute basket with whatever you think of. I remember some totally random combos I got but they were really useful items. Clothes, books, snack and sippy cups, teethers, baby wash, infant Tylenol, gas drops, burp cloths, etc.

I was going to say the same thing - baskets with useful everyday items are always appreciated.
If you're crafty, there always cute ideas on pinterest.

Baby Shower Gift
Definitely everyday items ie diaper cream, wipes, etc. I even had someone give me a case of diapers and wipes which was awesome. Gift cards are also great. It was nice to have them to buy all those unexpected items you dont think of until after baby is here.

I'm thinking of just doing diapers and wipes...they are very picky (most of the brands on their registry are things I've never heard of!) and I think they have very specific ideas of the things they want.

DD slept in that for the first 4 months of her life. It was the only place she would actually sleep for a little bit at a time. We would carry it into our bedroom with us with her in it when we were ready for bed ourselves. We would carry it so carefully, like we were carrying a ticking bomb, for fear or waking her up!
Then we got the Rock n Play and that was pretty awesome too

Re: Baby Shower Gift
Did you guys find it annoying when people bought bigger items not on your registry? I'm trying to gauge if they will be annoyed if they don't want something like that and I buy it and they have to return it.

Anyone who asks what a good gift is or what to register for I always suggest this. If it wasn't for this seat I don't think I would be sane today lol.

I didnt mind getting a gift not on my registry as long as I had a gift receipt. I literally think I was gifted 5 baby baths...and some people didnt give me a receipt so I had no idea where they had gotten them from.

I didn't have a gift receipt for a big gift I received, so it's still sitting unused in my garage. I figured I could re-gift it, use it in the future, or donate. But if you buy something big not on the registry, make sure you include a gift receipt.
Personally, I'd keep it simple. Maybe do a bath gift basket? Some towels, shampoo, body wash, bath toys, one of those mats you kneel on so your knees don't fall off while bathing in a bathtub.

Baby Shower Gift
Thermometer, snot sucker, tylenol, gas drops, boogie wipes, aquaphor in one of those collapsible boxes. That's my go-to.
Or you could do a basket with burp cloths, bibs, and newborn footies. NO ONE ever buys anything in newborn size and the vast majority of babies are in the for at least a little while.
I am also very picky and would not have used certain diaper/wipe brands. I also don't know that I would have wanted a big ticket item to of the registry if I already had a bunch of big ticket items.
