baby shower anxiety?
yesterday afternoon i helped the moms plan the baby shower (told them what food i'd like, type of cake, etc...) and i started realizing just how expensive it all is and woke up in the night worried that they were going to spend too much money on it and that no one would come and all these other fears. a large part of my brain knows that they are doing this because they want to and they wouldn't be doing it otherwise and that i shouldn't worry and maybe my brain just wanted something to worry about in the middle of the night, but does anyone else get miscellaneous worry over things like this?

Re: baby shower anxiety?
This happens to me occassionally...but that is why I am helping my mom with a lot of things...because I know she doesnt have a ton of funds to use on my shower...they wouldnt do it if they couldnt afford it or didnt want to do it! If my mom could do it all...she would!

Re: baby shower anxiety?
i probably wouldn't be losing sleep over it but i get worrying about it. I worry about my mom spending money or putting too much $$$ stuff on my registry etc. Some things I'm just determined to buy myself because I don't want to force people to spend a lot. A lot of the middle of the range stuff is more clutter that I don't have room for so what if there is nothing for people to buy?
i also usually find baby showers totally boring so that worries me too that I am subjecting people to torture!

Re: baby shower anxiety?
I talked to my dad this morning and he said he'll help my mom if necessary (they are divorced but get along great) and this is nothing i should be worrying about it and it will all work out and it will be a great day.
even though I am older dads are still good at saying the right thing

Re: baby shower anxiety?
I thought that way at first, until my mom told me that this is the only shower she'd ever get to help out for....and she had been looking forward to it for years.
As long as you are not having any Veruca Salt moments of "I want! I want! I want!", I wouldn't be too freaked about things....our parents & families look forward to doing these things, and they want to celebrate us and our babies in this special way!
