Baby Registry on Amazon.com?

We definitely plan to register with BRU, but DH was researching some items on Amazon and found they are much cheaper. Do you think it would be worth to also register with
Amazon? I don't what our relatives would think of this. I know DH and I would love to find out someone we know is registered on Amazon because we use it all the time and the prices are usually much lower than anywhere else. But I know some people don't like shopping online, so we're afraid that none of the stuff from that registry would get purchased. Do you think out of state relatives who coudn't make it to the shower, but want to send a gift would appreciate having Amazon as an option? Or is it considered tacky to have more than one registry?

I can't answer anything about tacky. I never consider that when it comes to what works for my organization style and when it comes to me wanting discount coupons lol.

I had an amazon registry and the majority of my items friends got me were purchased from it. It's by far the least expensive place to get gifts and it's super easy to access. Some of my relatives had things sent directly from amazon to my house (which is where we had my shower) and some got them sent to themselves then wrapped and brought them. I loved the registry completion coupon and how much it covered! And back then you got free amazon prime for a long time based on how much you spent from your registry and I ended up with a whole year free (which I miss lol).

One of my wedding registries was on amazon and honestly, i didn't love it.

A few things were purchased there, though the majority was bought in actual stores.

The thing i hated the most is that i wasn't able to physically SEE what i was registering for. When i received some of the gifts, i was surprised that they weren't exactly what i was hoping for.

Of course, you prob won't have that problem since you can always visit a baby store and see the item in person before you register for it.

Re: Baby Registry on Amazon.com?

I have a baby registry on Amazon, my friend who just had her baby was telling me the pros and cons of amazon and she was saying that people like to go to stores and buy and when you need to return things its a hassle because you have to box and ship everything.

Re: Baby Registry on Amazon.com?

New Grandma crashing here...My daughter-in-law just had a baby last week, and she registered on amazon.com as well as BRU. A lot of the items she registered for on amazon were cheaper than they were at BRU even with coupons. They are also very easy for returns. Many people who couldn't come to the shower ordered from amazon because of the free shipping. Also, she didn't get any duplicates from amazon, and they carried some different things that BRU didn't. She still had a good sized registry at BRU for people who like to shop in the stores.

I had an amazon and BBB registry...each was used about the same. I preferred the Amazon registry because it was cheaper and it tracks who gave what gift WITH their address! This was GREAT for thank yous!

I would go for it!

Re: Baby Registry on Amazon.com?

I am registered at BBB and Amazon. While I LOVE Amazon, (amazon mom member and Prime member) I noticed recently that there were a couple of items that were purchased in duplicate which I thought was so strange. e.g. our diaper bag, was purchased 3xs on 3 different dates. I don't know if it's a computer glitch or if that is accurate, but I can't see someone purchasing an item that is clearly already purchased, ya know?

Overall, I'm not having any other issues- but I think if I had to do it again, I would forget amazon.

I would go for it!! I thought about doing this too b/c one of the bedding sets I love is discontinued on BRU but Amazon still carries it.
