baby proofing an older house
We are moving into our new house soon. It was built around 1930, so there is lead. I am also concerned about all of the low windows in all of the rooms, including all the bedrooms upstairs.
What do you do if you live in an older house regarding lead? I am planning on just keeping the floors clean, trying not to wear shoes in the house, etc. Any other suggestions?
Do they make any safety things for low windows?
TIA!

Re: baby proofing an older house
We also live in an old house from the 40s and we had the paint tested and there was no lead, thank god. But to be safe, we just keep an eye out for anything peeling or what not. As for the low windows, it concerns me, too for when my son gets older and starts to get mobile. My DD is old enough that I don't worry for her, plus there's furniture in front of her windows. I'm pretty sure that they do make something for the windows. I'm not sure where to find it, though. Sorry I'm no help! But I do know they make them.
