Baby Orajel
What are your thoughts on it?
DS' gums are absolutely bothering him. I'm a little afraid to put it on DS' gums for fear of him choking though.
If you do put it on your DC how much and when do you do it?

Re: Baby Orajel
Never used it. My ped discouraged it because of the possible numbing of the throat. It scared the crap out of me when I googled info, so I stuck with Tylenol or Motrin.

Re: Baby Orajel
I tried it on myself first, it numbed my whole mouth, I didn't like for that reason. I don't think it would help in the case of real pain.

Re: Baby Orajel
Used it on both my boys - DS #1 liked it and ds#2 despises it, but he doesn't like medicine of any sort

My ped told me that he and all of the other doctors in the practice advise against it and it use motrin for extreme pain and humphreys teething tablets/

Thanks girls. I didn't try it last night. Just gave him a little motrin.
I'm not sure I can do it. Dh thinks I'm being nutty about it.

yeah, it was more powerful than i thought it would be. since DCs don't have such control of their saliva, i can't imagine what it would be like for them. i never used it.

Re: Baby Orajel
i use it often...never had a problem, and it definitely helped.
people have been using it for years with no problem - i think if you want to try it, go for it! if your gut tells you not to, then don't. i always go with my gut :)

Re: Baby Orajel
I got desperate one night and used it on DS. He choked...Threw it in the garbage. I use Hylands teething gel instead. Seems to work..
