Baby Items Storage.

I was wondering where did you store items if you did not have furniture or a nursery yet. I am beginning to get gifts and was wondering where I can store them. We already have a room picked for the nursery but I haven't really empty it out just yet cause I think its way too early. Where did you ladies store early gifts? like clothing etc?

For the baby's clothing, I cleared out a shelf in my own closet and folded it and put it in there. Once we had the room we were going to use as a nursery cleaned out, we just started putting stuff in there in the closet.

We are in the middle of building so all big stuff is in my MIL's garage and the clothes and stuff, which right now is only hand me downs, are in my guest room dresser, (which is now in our basement since the guest room is part of our construction!!!

It was around Christmas time where I hit the 2nd trimester and people started buying things. I took one of the big boxes that a gift came in and started collecting in there. That box is now full so I'm trying to find other places to store while I clean out all our closets to make room in his closet...lots to do!

We have a bin that houses the clothes and stuffed animals. The bigger baby stuff is in the basement.

I only have clothes so ... I've just hung it all in the closet. Will take it all down and wash when it's time.

Oh wait, we got a rock and play also... it's tucked behind the couch for now.

Re: Baby Items Storage.

I was amazed how many baby items we got way ahead of our Chat Icon expected birth. With only have a two bedroom house or storage space was limited. Our second room was a storage/ office set up prior to being the babies room. We just put all the baby gifts in bins in that room until everything was set up. Our baby got lots of Christmas gifts this year. While it was very sweet of our friends and family, I don't think I ever would have thought to buy presents for an unborn child for a 'holiday gift' that wasn't here. I have in the past purchased items I just couldn't pass up for babies for close friends or family, but I typically hung onto those items for their shower and/or 'first visit' gifts. Our little one is certainly blessed and we have been so appreciative of everything we received for our Chat Icon But it did make cleaning out the room a struggle once the baby bins starting taking over.

Re: Baby Items Storage.

I think I am going to start cleaning the closet of the soon to be nursery this weekend and start storing up items there. Actually I had asked my family not to give me anything yet but my parents just got back from a trip and got me a bunch of baby items and my sister is not upset because I didn't let her buy the baby clothes lol
