baby food prices
Where do you find the best deals on jars or baby food and cereals?
We are also considering making our baby foods- if you do that or tried, can you share your experiences or any tips too?
We are going to be starting to actually "feed" DD soon- so excited! I think she is too- she stares at what we are eating and drools! Image Attachment(s):

Re: baby food prices
We fed DS Earth's Best, so I can only speak to that. Target, in general, had the best prices but a pretty slim selection. BRU had a great selection but their daily prices were higher. However, they often have sales and then become comparable to, if not cheaper than, Target.

Re: baby food prices
I make DD's food and it is the easiest thing ever. And really saves you money. I use the BabyCook from BBB. All you need are fruits & veggies, a peeler, wholesomebabyfood.com, and some containers ( I now find the gladware 4 oz the best and cheapest). Even though she is only on 2 oz at a time, I defrost the 4 oz and use it for 2 meals A lot of people also use ice trays but it never worked for me.
Here is an idea about cost. I bought 2 mangos yesterday for $1.67 and made 10 containers of food. Some fruits and veggies are cheaper then others so I buy when in season and stock up.

Re: baby food prices
I have been making DD's food using the beabecook. You could easily just use a pot, steamer basket and food processor or blender.
I also have jars of earths best as a back up. Target has been the cheapest, but limited selection.
Like a PP said... wholesomebabyfood.com is a great website.

Re: baby food prices
nice bib we have the same :)
We are making our own right now- apples, pears, nectarines, sweet potatoes, squash, plums, turnips, corn, mashed potatoes, mashed cookies, etc.. bananas..
jarred food- we use beechnut only for the meats we have started cause i cant imagine making meat yet it seems hard.. and we also use the jarred food for the mixed fruits- apricots with bananas for example.
we pay 40-60 cents a jar.
We arent using organic because ds wont be eating organic when he gets older, why start now.
fm if you want help with making the food.
