Baby by Appointment 8/29

Well my 2nd doctor agreed with the first that the chances of me having a successful V-delivery are very small because of the shape of my pelvis. We scheduled a c-section for 8/29 (my EDD is 9/4) so I will be 39w1d. They said trying vaginally would not put me or baby at risk but it most definitely won't happen so I figured if I go into labor before the 29th I'll give it a shot but if not, the 29th it is. Do you think I'm making the right choice? The doctor didn't tell me what to do, just said I would most likely end up having a section so I chose to schedule it for then. WDYT? I was really bummed about it but now I am getting used to it. I just want a safe delivery and to have her here with me. Chat Icon

That sounds like the right decision. If the doctor thinks you'll need a section, it's probably safer and easier on the baby to have it planned, rather than go through a stressful labor, only to wind up with a c-section anyway

I agree with Kristina...this seems to make the most sense. You don't want any unnecessary complications to arise by trying to go vaginally.

Personally, I think you made the right choice for yourself and your DH and you shouldn't have to ask us or anyone other than your DH or your doctors if you did.

I wish you the best and hope that your c-section goes easily and smoothly for you. Good luck!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I can't believe she is going to be here so soon! I think you made the right decision. You don't want to go through all the pushing only to have a C in the end. Chat Icon

Re: Baby by Appointment 8/29

i just saw this... i wanted to say that i think you are 1000% doing the right thing. if the doctors are right (and it seems like there is a good chance they are) then trying to have a v-birth could stress both you and the baby out. doing it this way ensures that you are both kept safe and healthy and happy.

i am so excited for you!! only 15 more days!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
