Baby and Allergies?

This maybe a stupid question, but how did you know if your baby had allergies seasonal or environmental allergies? Other than an obvious rash. My 10.5 month old has had this runny nose, not really stuffy nose, for the last 2 weeks along with waking up with crusty eyes in the morning the past week. Last two nights he was coughing. Could be nothing just another cold or teething maybe. I'm getting worried it could be an allergy to our dog. Or maybe seasonal allergies? We are going to the doctor next week for a check up but might bring him sooner.

Baby and Allergies?

Only way to truly know if it's an allergy is to see an allergist and have him tested.

I did some research bc I was wondering the same thing but according to what I read you have to be exposed for several seasons to develop an allergy so they don't appear until the child is more like 2 or 3.

Yes agreed. We had DS allergy tested at 2.

This. Some research says that seasonal allergies don't show up until age 2, but our Ped disagrees. Typically, seasonal allergies are not presented as a rash, I've had them my whole life and they include nasal congestion, eye irritation, sinus pain/pressure, and can cause ear infections and sinus infections.
