Baby acne or something else?
DS got a rash on his face at 3 weeks, he is 6 weeks now and it has gotten worse, it's on his face, neck, chest, back, even on his upper arms. When the ped saw him at a month appt he said it's baby acne, which DD got too, with DD it also spread all over so then the ped told me to put cortisone cream on her 2 x day and it really helped, I tried the same thing with DS but no result. It seems to get better around the face dor a few hrs or a day and then it comes back. I'm starting to think it's not baby acne, thinking maybe allergies to something , am EBF and we use All clear detergent for him... It doesn't seem to bother him, I mean he does scratch his face sometimes, but mostly when he is hungry and frustrated, otherwise he is very calm and quiet and doesn't scratch or anything. I'm thinking if it doesn't go away in a week or so go to a dermatologist or back to ped. Or maybe even an allergist, not sure if they can test for allergies at such a young age.

Re: Baby acne or something else?
Both my kids have that. It's eczema brought on my food allergies. Thousands of tiny little bumps that get angry and red and scale over into eczema on the cheeks. When I figure out the allergy and eliminate it from my diet it disappears in about a week.
ETA: my kids allergies are non-IgE mediated, so they don't show up on testing. Try eliminating all dairy and soy for a week and see if that helps.

Try to eliminate all dairy, soy and gluten from your diet. It takes about two weeks for it to get out of your system. Also try putting some organic unrefined coconut oil on his skin. Good luck!

Re: Baby acne or something else?
Could be eczema, that is how it was on my last DC. Started out to be what looked like baby acne and spread. It goes worse when DC was warm or had been sleeping.
