babies who sleep on your chest...

Those whose DC sleep on your chest..how did you transition them to a crib?

DS loves to tummy sleep..either on the couch (for naps) or on me or DH at nite..this is how we've been sleeping. once DS gets into a deep sleep i'll move him to his car seat (b/c he refuses the bassinet) or i'll just keep him on me.

Did you find transitioning was hard? what age did you transition? (DS is going on 6 weeks and i'd like to start getting him into a crib or his pack and play)

we want to move our pack and play into our bedroom so DS can at least sleep in that and DH and i can sleep in the same bed...LOL.

DS slept on my chest for the first few weeks... maybe till about 3 months when I started work. He'd be so fidgity at night and then always around 4 AM he'd get up so I'd put him on me and he'd sleep for a few more hours.

I was afraid to transition him to the crib so of course the first week he still fussed at his 4 AM regular time and I took him with me... then one day he slept a little longer and each time longer so I didn't put him on me. It's like he transitioned himself. Since he was 4 months he's been sleeping on his belly and I no longer put him on me.

I let him sleep on his belly in the bassinet. That's the only way he would sleep more than 15 min at a time
