Babies that sleep in swings and/or propped on a boppy....questions

WHEN should I try to transition him to sleeping laying down?

I fear for MY sanity and lack of sleep!

Re: Babies that sleep in swings and/or propped on a boppy....questions

DS will sleep in anything (boppy, bouncer, swing, us...) for a nap. But he sleeps the night in the swing. I was thinking I would try it when he was 4 months. Then we found out he was occassionally taking his naps in the crib at daycare. So one night I tried. He went right to sleep in the crib no problem. But his sleep was very light and he kept waking up for the pacifier at the smallest noise. The next night, he wouldn't go down in it. We keep trying. Sometimes he will, sometimes he won't and we don't force it. When I aske dthis question a week or two ago, I basically got that one night, they just made the transition and that was it. My DS seems to be doing it, but at his own pace instead of all in one shot. Keep trying and one night you might be surprised!

My first DD slept in her swing until she was 8 months old... One day she fell asleep in the car on the way home from a shopping trip. I scooped her up and put her in her crib - She has napped in her crib ever since.

Don't worry - They'll transition when they're ready.

He's always slept in the crib at night (thankfully)...but during the day--->Chat Icon

I have found that IF I have the time to sit for 45 minutes or rock him for that time, I am able to put him in his bed for naps SOMETIMES. Like today...he's been in bed now for almost 3 hours. Unfortunately, we have to leave soon for the dr. (more shots) so it won't be pretty.Chat Icon

When all else fails, I put him in the car and drive. The other night I drove to Jones Beach. Usually he's out cold by the time I drive out and back and I can easily put him down.

I turn it on for him to fall asleep, but I turn it off as soon as he's asleep.
