Just needed to vent about my experience with babies r us this weekend...
very long story short...make sure you check your registry/online prices when you are paying in store. i got 4 things and all 4 items were cheaper online/on my registry then in the store. the store in college point doesnt have the screens that show you the price when you are paying but i noticed the prices on the shelves. they had a manager come over and adjust all the prices to the lower prices, but if i didnt check i would have overpaid on everything (my mattress was $40 more in store, and then the rest were just like $5 or $1 off but it adds up)
Also, I got the VIB baby card which comes up on my registry for people to add funds to as a gift that can be used towards diapers, wipes, food and then BRU will add an additional 10%. Great concept BUT - apparently they do NOT notify you when or who puts money on your card!!! My friend generously gave $100 on the card last week and i never mentioned it to him so he fwd me his email confirmation asking if i got it. I called up and sure enough the money was on my card (thankfully) and i got a supervisor on the phone to complain about not getting notified and i was told they do NOT notify you of it - it was not an error or a mistake, they expect the person giving the gift to tell you even though on his order confirmation it states that the gift will come by email so he assumed they would email me. So i now need to go remove this from my registry because how are you supposed to know who to thank if you dont get notifications???

It stinks but all stores are more expensive than their websites. BRU prices also vary by location which is ridiculous. Always Always check the prices online before going to the store bc they do price match.

And....they will price match and honor their own online prices, but then they won't take a 20% off coupon unless you get a nice enough manager or make a big enough stink and then they over ride it.

They are the worse. I was there yesterday trying to see if I could do an even exchange on a diaper bag that was on my registry because the strap broke and they told me since it was more than 90 days that they couldn't take it back. They told me to contact the company directly to see if I could get a new bag!!!

Had the same experience regarding prices.
I had a terrible experience there with my registry (I posted about it several months back).
I hate babies r us!
