BABEL

OK so DH and I finally saw this yesterday and I have to say it was all right, I didnt see they hype, Oscar hype that revolved around it. I have seen better movies, am I alone in this??

I've seen better movies but I thought some of the acting was top notch. Particularly the Mexican nanny. I know I was blown away by that storyline.

I just got this movie in the mail from Netflix...Haven't watched it yet - DH has no interest in seeing it and the people that have seen haven't been raving about it - that it was so so...but thats usually the case with movies that are hyped up by the Oscars...they are talked about like you are going to be blown away by a movie - then you watch it and wonder what you didn't see that the academy saw

I really thought it was going to be better, the Mexican nanny was the only story I cared about and the 2 morroccan (sp) boys I felt bad for. I guess its like the movie American Beauty I hated it and it was the rave of the year. Just pisses me off I bought it instead of renting first.

I agree with you. The acting was great....I thought ALL of them deserved Oscar nods for acting, but the storyline was ehhh..so so. The nany was awesome though.
