Attorney fees

Hi, I am new to this board. We are currently looking to sell our first home and buy another home. When we bought the first time I had group legal at work so we did not pay attorney's fees. Does anyone know how much attorney's fees are when buying a house? Also when estimates of 3% are given for closing costs does that # typically include attorney's fees? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Usually when you are buying a home an attorney can be on average around $950. Since you are selling and buying it might be more. Let me know if you would like me to recommend someone--I am a real estate attorney and know other attorneys that handle residential sale/purchase.

i was happy with my lawyer (I just bought.) He charged $975. Let me know if you want his info.

In NYC I paid $1200 but that included a travel fee to close in Long Island (like $250 )

I just worked with a NYC real estate lawyer on a sale I had with clients and he was GREAT!!! The customers raved about him and I enjoyed working with him too. I recommended him to a friend last week.
