Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
Thinking of going to Atlantis, Bahamas end of Aug/beginning of Sept. Would be my husband and I and our son who will be 15 months old then.
Is the meal plan worth it or don't bother. It's $75 each adult per day for bkft and dinner only.

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
I am in the process of booking my trip to the Atlantis for the end of August for myself, my mother and my 10 year old son and we are getting the casual dining plan. I was told the food is outrageously expensive and if you travel outside of the Atlantis property by taxi cab that can be quite expensive as well.

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
dh and i didn't get the meal plan when we went, so usually we ate a late brunch and then early dinner. we spent about $100 a day for the both of us, not including drinks. we didn't leave the resort to eat. also we took the water taxi to nassau one day to go souvenir shopping. i think it was $5 a person. once you are in atlantis you really don't have to leave. there is everything.

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
I just booked my trip to the Atlantis! Yea! FYI the cost of the meal plan that we took is $62/pp/day. Includes Breakfast and Dinner not at every restaurant but their are a lot. I don't need the really fancy ones with a 9 year old....

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
I have done both. I think its worth it if you eat at the expensive restaurants and get the full 4 courses. We usually mix it up and eat at Carmines one night, a few nicer places. For us it costs the same or less without the plan. The best thing about the plan is it is paid in advance so you don't get hit with a big bill when you check out.
edited to add: We usually eat at mesa grill there and the bill is about $150 with drinks.

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas - Meal Plan
We were there in March, DH & myself. We opted for the gourmet meal plan, and we couldn't have been happier. We like eating in the nicer restaurants, like Mesa Grill, Bahamian Club, Dune, etc. For us, it was worth it. We figured out that we basically got breakfast for free everyday, which, was usually around $40 or $50 depending on where you ate!
