Atlantic City hotels?
Can anyone recomend a nicer hotel in Atlantic City for a long weekend? Preferably on the boardwalk/really really close to the beach?
TIA!

Re: Atlantic City hotels?
We loved the borgata (not on the beach) but such a nice hotel is it worth the cab ride IMO. They also offer transportation down to the beach

Re: Atlantic City hotels?
I've stayed at the Showboat, Borgata and Harrahs. I liked both Borgata and Showboat. Harrah's on the other hand was not great. The hotel as a whole was dirty and the service wasn't great at all. I would never stay there again.
ETA: Out of the 3 I listed, Showboat is on the boardwalk but at the far end. Ceasar's I think is the most central one.

Re: Atlantic City hotels?
Tropicana is really nice but they have the slowest elevators on god's green earth. I swear it took my sister & I (no joke) 30 minutes to get an elevator out of there when we were checking out. I think we ended up on a service elevator. It was even on a Monday so it's not we should have planned for the Sunday morning check out rush. It's located right on the boardwalk so the beach is right there.
Ballys is nice and is on the boardwalk.
Harrahs is really nice - they have a great indoor pool area but they are not near the beach.
Non-casino options are the Palace Suites on the boardwalk and The Sheraton about 3 blocks away.

See if you can get a room in the Havana Tower - the elevators are MUCH quicker!!!! (In the Trop...)

When DH and I go down to AC, we always stay at this nice little B&B a town over in Ventnor, NJ. It is on the Boardwalk, but we have only gone during colder months, so we haven't used hte beach. It's such a great place, and I find it nice to be away from the casinos to make it a more romantic weekend. The breakfasts are delicious!

I've stayed at the Tropicana and Borgata, and my favorite is definately the Borgata by far. I heard Harrah's is nice too but I have never been there.
