Athlete's foot in babies?
Has anyone ever dealt with this? I never even knew it was possible for babies to get athlete's foot. My 16 month old has had red, cracked skin under and between his toes for a little while now. I put Vaseline or lotion on it some nights at bedtime, which helps temporarily, but it never goes away completely. Tonight, I noticed it looked pretty bad in one spot, so my husband started googling and decided it is athlete's foot. I am definitely planning to take him to the ped tomorrow, but wanted to ask if anyone else has dealt with this.

Yes my ds gets it because his feet sweat a lot. I bought a cornstarch powder and put it on his feet before his socks everyday. The ped said the most important thing was to keep his feet dry and to take off his socks and shoes at home to air ou. Lotion made it worse. I also used an athletes foot spray when it got really bad.

DS got it last summer or the summer before. I was shocked but I realized it was from his crocs and the moisture.
In between his toes actually cracked so bad they bled. He was prescribed 2 different creams one anti fugal and something else.

DS had it this winter at 3 from sweaty feet.
I used Lotrimin and it cleared up and hasn't come back.

Same here. My DS is 20 months. Lotrimin worked really fast!

Coconut oil is supposed to help clear up athlete's foot because it's anti-fungal.

My DS just had this. He's 2 years old. He also had it last year as well. He puts my mother inlaws shoes on and she has a severe case of athletes foot. The Ped. gave us a Rx and an over the counter foot powder. Within 2 weeks or so it was gone.
