Re: At what week...

if you're getting a sonogram at that visit, they "should" be able to tell.

I have an appointment at 18 weeks and the doc says we should be able to tell. Hopefully baby will be cooperative!

If you get a sono at that time they MAY be able to tell, however I just had my 18 week appt and I didnt get a sono.

Generally they will not do them upon request..... most offices tell you that you can find out the sex during the level II sonogoram.... which is 18-20 weeks....

But, my office was clear that 20 weeks was the better time for gender determination.........

Re: At what week...

I played lets make a deal at my 17 week appointment. I asked her to do a quick sono instead of the heartbeat. She was hesitant..but then got excited to try and tell so she did the sono and I wasn't charged for it either!!
