At what point would you call??? Updated with another question: WWYD?

Yes, I'm impatient, but I try to plan things around when my DD is napping just for my sanity.

I'm having a new dishwasher delivered and installed today. The installer called last night to confirm and said he'd be here between 1-3. It's now literally just after 3 and no sign of him, or no phone call.

Do I give it until 3:30 to see what's going on, or push it till 4?

I'd give it to 3:30 and then call.

I'd call now and ask them for an ETA.

So, WWYD...

I called, went to voicemail. Left a message then called the store we purchased the dishwasher from.

It's now 4:06, no word from the installer and the store .... less than helpful. Pretty much said to me "what do you want me to tell you?"

IF the guy shows up, which I'm doubting he will at this point given the time and given the fact the store told me he typically is HOME by 5:00pm. Do I still tip the guy? I have to go out this evening, so my husband will be here if the guy shows up to do the install. Do I tell my husband to not tip him?

I mean, I rearranged my entire day around this guy. This is the ONLY day in the next 4 weeks that I was able to schedule this for due to other commitments and things going on. I think it's pretty rude and VERY unprofessional to not even call me to let me know he is running behind.

WWYD? Still tip the guy or not?

nope I would not tip the guy. And what company did you buy this from? That is really bad business! They should have called the installer for you. GL! Chat Icon

At first I was thinking "still tip", but ask him first if the store gave him your phone number, if he says "yes" - don't tip him. You're right - he should have called.

Whenever I've gotten an appliance delivered from PC Rich - the driver has always called.

The store claims they did call him.

He does have my phone number. He called me last night to confirm, and I called and left a message along with my phone number a half hour ago as well.

No, I would not tip.

second, i would be sure to write/call in a complaint. I'm sure you paid good money for the dishwasher and it's unacceptable that their customer service stinks!

ITA - Unless they gave me an incredible deal ... I would cancel and go elsewhere. That is completely unacceptable. At the very least you should have gotten a phone call with an explanation.

Where did you order it from? I can give you then name/number of the guy we ordered my fridge from. They were fantastic! Moved it in, hooked it all up and even disconnected and removed my old one (they aren't supposed to disconnect the old one for whatever reason!)

Re: At what point would you call??? Updated with another question: WWYD?

Thanks!

It turns out the guy the store uses for delivery and installations, up and quit on Friday. What really ****** me off after I found that out, is why didn't the guy I spoke to in the store forty billion times tell me that.... apparently, I wasn't the only call that afternoon, and by the time I had called, the guy and brought all the delivery items back to the store already.

I am waiting on a call from the new company they are using to reschedule.

If it was anyother place, I would have cancelled and ordered it somewhere else. But we ordered it from where we did because it's a good (no.. GREAT friend Chat Icon ) whose husband works there, and we wanted to give him the commission.
