At what point do you start to look for ...

Pediatrician?

Day Care?

I feel like I remember someone telling me that they started looking for day care right after the first trimester?

Is this true?

I have been on a wait list at two daycares since about 20 weeks, I'm not even sure I am going to use daycare, but I want to be prepared in case.

I also met with our pediatrician around 20 weeks.

First of all... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I didn't look for daycare since DH and I are going to work alternate hours so we don't have to look for it.

DH and I interviewed our 1st pediatrician last week when I was 35 weeks. We loved him so much that the appt I had set up to interview pediatrician #2 tomorrow, I'm gonna cancel. I would say that you should look for a pediatrician as soon as you get to the 3rd trimester and look for daycare asap!! Good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: At what point do you start to look for ...

With DS I looked at daycare when I was 4 months PG. A lot of places did not even have opening for us and had a waiting list.

It's never too early.

The ped. You can start looking in the last month of pregnancy. In the worst case scenario, they have one anyone at the hospital until you find one.

Pediatrician-- 2-3 months before due date

Daycare--I looked in my 4th month PP but I would do it sooner since there are waitlists

Ped - I have to get on this. I don't want to go on bedrest or into labor and not have this done.

Daycare - we're not using daycare...

Re: At what point do you start to look for ...

For the pediatrician, we started around my 8th month.

We already knew which daycare we were going to go with since the day I got pregnant. Some of them have long waiting lists so sometimes earlier is better.
