At what age did your DC claim a "lovey"
DD has a few of them in her pack n play (a few stuffed animals, some silky blanket thingies with a bear head, stuff like that)
she can't hold them unless I put them in her hand, but I'm wondering at what age do they grab something to help soothe themselves.....(this is what a "lovey" is right?)

5 months. He uses a burp cloth as his lovey. He was swaddled until he was 5 months old. Once that ended we started to give him a lovey and then I decided a burp cloth was easier to replace should we lose it.

Re: At what age did your DC claim a "lovey"
We took DSs binky away at about 14/15 months. Soon after that he started requesting his "blanky". He only does that when he's watching tv at night or right before bed. I did bring it to school one day last week b/c he was acting off/sick. If he doesn't have his blanky, any towel or pillow case will do...for now.

Re: At what age did your DC claim a "lovey"
I gave my DD a sock monkey at 11 months old and she fell in love. At 2 she still drags it everyewhere. My older DD didn't have a lovey until my younger DD did (They always have to do what that other one does ) so she was 2. Her lovey changes though, she decides every night what she wants to sleep with.

Re: At what age did your DC claim a "lovey"
DD had an angel lovey from early on, maybe 6 months until about 1 and then she switched to a blankie that she still uses at 3.
DS from about 4 months has been addicted to "Mr. Bear". I would put it in his hands when I rocked him so he associated it with sleep.
