I am looking into ideas for our 10th anniversary thinking Aruba. I am looking at Amsterdam Manor or Biscuti & Tara resorts. Not sure originally was looking for AI but from reviews AI isn't really way to go for Aruba. I want quiet relaxing day on beach nice dining and drinks for evening. Any info or feedback on Aruba would be great! Please let me know want to book soon

Aruba is an amazing island!! I looked quickly at the reviews of both if the hotels you mentioned and I think I would go with Biscuti and Tara. I like that they offer free breakfast and that you don't have to cross the street to get to the beach. That said, you realize both properties are not in main areas? You will have to bus/cab it to either Oranjestad or the high rise for shopping and dining.

Aruba is amazing; we go every year. I have to agree with the above poster - the Buccuti is not near any entertainment or restaurants and for that reason alone I would not stay there. Along the high rise section, there are nice hotels with lots of options within walking distance. I will admit that my husband and I had a very romantic dinner on the beach at the Buccuti and it was wonderful.

Bucuti is perfect for what you are looking for. No one under 18 allowed. Small quiet resort, almost everyone there is on their HM or celebrating their Anniversary. There are alwas lounges available at the pool and beach (don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels out). Went there on my HM in 2011 and I know they have renovated the restaurant since then, so not sure if that's changed (it was good, but not great), but overall, I would definitely recommend! There are some great restaurants to go to, off property - Madame Janette's and Mirandi were 2 of our faves.

We've been to Aruba numerous times. We stay at the Hyatt and love it! It can get pricey by the pool and in the gift shop etc. All the restaurants in Aruba are amazing. Great food. FM me if you have any questions!

Re: Aruba
def stay in the high rise hotel section! My family owns a timeshare in Marriott and we go every year! We love it! There is lots to do and everything is walking distance! No real need for a car! I dont think an AI is even necessary because there is prob 60+ restaurants all along the hotel strip

The Bucuti is a great resort. It is so quiet and relaxing. DH and I went for an anniversary pre-kids and it was amazing. They don't allow any kids at the resort so it makes for a much more peaceful environment. We stayed in a regular room which was very nice. I wouldn't say it blew me away though. I've heard the Tara suites are really quite nice. We didn't mind taking a taxi downtown each evening. Now that we have kids if we go back we'd definitely stay in the high rise section just for convenience.

Re: Aruba
My DH and I went to the restaurant there Carte Blanche.... It was truly one of the best restaurant experiences we have everhad . We are foodies so it was fantastic... We booked it 6 months in advance. We got to Aruba with my inlaws every year so we went to celebrate our 10th anniversar without kids one night.
It will cost you but well worth i. It is a restaurant that only allows 14 people per night. The owner cooks the meal right in front of you.... I think it was a five course meal with pairings of wine of you decide...
From what we saw, it seem so chi chi and beautiful and very quiet. We are not used to that since we stay at the Marriot surf club...
The restaurant is one of the best on the island. Check trip advisor.... highly recommend if you go to aruba to eat there for your anniversary...

Re: Aruba
We stayed at Bucuti for our HM in 2006 and loved every minute of it. We actually chose this resort BECAUSE it wasnt in the high rise area. It was our HM and wanted quiet and relaxation. We didnt mind taking a taxi if we wanted to go to a restaurant or into Oranjestad. If you are going w out kids then i would definitely stay at Bucuti.

Re: Aruba
We went to Aruba for our honeymoon and stayed at the RIU. Everyone says that you shouldn't do AI, but we loved it! We did leave the resort for dinner a few times, but it was worth it for us to have all our breakfasts, lunches and drinks at the resort.
We're actually going back to Aruba in a few weeks and we're doing AI again. The RIU was booked so we're staying at The Renaissance, it looks amazing!
