Artists Welcomed: Help me create my "tatoo"
I'm working today so if I don't respond immediately...I'll respond tonight.
I'm getting a tatoo, and I just want to spin some ideas off ya'll.
I have a quote, and since it's pretty long, DH suggested using the word "stronger" and then perhaps some type of a design around it?
The quote is by ze German Philospher Friedrich Nietzsche:
"What does not kill me, makes me stronger."
It will go on my lower back in the middle...
okay? go!

Chrissy,
Maybe, just a thought, instead of the actual quote you could do it in Chinese symbols instead. I think that would be much better looking.
DH suggested the same thing - but to be honest, I'm not a fan of chinese symbols.

Sanskrit is the new language for tattoos. I love it - what do you think?

What about having the whole quote wrap around your arm? You could get the whole quote that way.

Totally agree...I would definitely get the entire tat - you're putting it on a place where it would fit. Doesn't have to be one long sentence, could be two - one on top of the other.
Fwiw, it's called Kanji - they're characters/letters in the Japanese alphabet.

Re: Artists Welcomed: Help me create my "tatoo"
i'd get it in a banner... the banner can be around a heart or flower or something.
OR,,
have the word "STRONGER" written big, and then the words "what does not kill me makes me" written above it, smaller. maybe even arcing over it.

Is there any kind of image that you are inspired by? You can have stronger written in or around an image like a dolphin, yin yang, superman logo, heart, sunset, cross, music note, a tree, etc. Anything you are passionate about or means strong to you. Or just find a nice font for the word and have your tatoo artist design some scrolly flowers around it.

Give it a shape, like the words of the quote are in the shape of a butterfly or something.
While looking for an example, I found this.
Okay, not a tattoo, but what I'm talking about.

Nietzsche, what a crazy writer who said some rather interesting things and crazy things at the same time.
FWIW- Kanjii are used in Japanese writing, but are Chinese characters.

I'm liking this idea...
and if anything, I'd rather have it written in Arabic since it is my culture...I'd rather not get a language that I don't associate with.
Thank you ladies!!!

I recall a while back that you were planning on getting a tat in Arabic? Was this what you were thinking of, or a different tattoo?

I'm not an artist, but I played with a font for you.
I couldn't do an arc. I have limited resources. Ha!
You can preview other fonts at 1001fonts.com . This font is called Beyond Wonderland. But I'm sure you have other font sites from your travels!

Could you find someone that does Arabic caligraphy? They are some beautiful pieces of artwork from arabic words...
like these:
I know you don't want a language you don't associate with - but what about in German for nietzsche?

Re: Artists Welcomed: Help me create my "tatoo"
Cassie June - I love that font! I also love that layout - with the beginning smaller than the Stronger...I'm going to run with this...
Ellie - thank you so much for those pictures...it really helped visualize...I spoke with my family and they honestly think I should stay away from the Arabic...b/c if it's not an artist that writes the language naturally, one small mark can totally change the entire thing!
