Are you good at organizing pictures and memories??

I feel like I am the biggest slacker - the only pictures I have are the ones my dad orders for me (which is pretty much every picture I take of Jack) but I don't have time to go through and organize and do albums.

I also want to frame them and make a nice wall --- I have had the frames for months now...and nothing is done.

I also have not filled out his babybook in months.

Oh - and let's not forget that DH got me tons of scrapbooking things and I have yet to take them out of the bag.

Am I the only one like this? I feel like I am so behind on everything that playing catch-up seems like it's going to take forever.

Thats what I did Noahs blog, because it takes me so little time, 5 minutes to put up pictures and I have a running commentary of what happens day to day.

I also have a journal for him. I write in it every now and again and print out a picture from that day, but its less sporadic then the blog, which I upkeep all the time.

you can try that for memories?

Re: Are you good at organizing pictures and memories??

all of DD's pic are in albums up until she was about 6 months, then i realized if i kept putting them in albums, i would have to have 100 albums But they are all organized on the computer.

Scrapbook - her 1st year scrapbook, is half done...she's now 14 months old Chat Icon

baby book - half filled, even though it only goes up to her 1st birthday.

i have no idea when she first walked, first smiled, first ate etc etc. i'm really bad with that stuff.

i can only imagine the disorganization for the next 2 kids.

Re: Are you good at organizing pictures and memories??

I have no photos in albums since November, and I take a TON of photos. They're all online, I was printing them out up until a few months ago, but those boxes of photos are still sitting in a corner in my room Chat Icon so I stopped ordering for now.

Her baby book I am horrible about. I was just thinking about it this morning how far behind I am with it. Chat Icon

Re: Are you good at organizing pictures and memories??

Once a month, on their month birthday, I upload all of the pics from the month into an album and burn to CD.

I select certain pics and print one or two months at a time. I'm OCD about pics so I put one copy in my album the same night... I don't write anything fancy because I make sure to take a pic of them every month, with the sign and that acts as a "chapter"... although this month, it was a pic of just the sign and them separate...lol.

I record all milestones, and anything else that's cute, on a calendar I have in the kitchen. Nothing fancy, it's the school district's calendar that came in the mail... I then transfer it to their baby books every other month or so. I take 5 minutes after I'm done cleaning up the kitchen every night to think about what happened that day... I don't write something every day..

Or, I'll grab the video camera, I keep it out on a shelf in the playroom, and I'll film them and just narrate "recent events". During the first three months when things were crazy around here, that's what I did most often.

Oh, yeah... scrapbooks... I'm up to month 8... I only started when they were 6 months old... I do one for each of them... wait, did I say ONEChat Icon Month 0-8 is THREE scrapbooks EACH... yeah, each of them has scrapbooks... often the pages are exactly alike. Yes, I'm crazy and Michael's should salute me when I walk in...lol. For the start of each month, I have their monthly pic and then I type up all of the milestones, etc. off of the calendar, onto the nice paper... then the other pages for the month follow.

Keep in mind, my kids, up until recently, went to bed at 6 pm and my DH travels. I can't just sit and watch tvChat Icon When I taught, I was used to hours and hours of paperwork at night.

Pictures, well I am really organized on the computer. I have a folder for each child. Then in each folder I have it seperated by month. I also have a folder that has pictures of both of them and that is seperated by year. Then I upload them to Shutterfly once a month and I have monthly albums on their too. As far as printing them, I have either up to 13 or 14 months in an album for DS. Then I have them printed until 18 months but I haven't organized them yet to put in an album and ds is 25 months Chat Icon . DD, poor thing..she only has printed pictures in an album up until 3 months. Talk a about being behind.

You have NO idea- she is so organized and perfect- she even has a scrapbook of her kitchen remodel. Now I have a barely completed baby book, no intention of starting albums since they would fill our house and the worst memory in the history of Mother's. Theresa is definately an inspiration. Totally agree with Christine. You can't even imagine what she can get done during a nap - which is why she is homicidal when they are on different schedules.

I have always been really good wi9th the baby book....its all filled out with detailed info and some pics and other memories. However, the albums and scrapbooks are pretty much nonexisitant. I do have 1000s of pics all burned to Cds and organized on 2 diff computers. I really gata start printing pics and making albums.Chat Icon
