Are we crazy?
Ok, now that all the excitement is wearing down, now I'm thinking hubby and I are absolute lunatics for buying this house. It's a HUGE fixer-upper, over 3000 sq/ft worth! Last time we did this we didn't have a crying baby to tend to all day... and on top of that, it looks like my firm will be gobbled up by a HUGE firm that expects much more of a time committment than I'm putting in right now.
I woke up this morning having a minor panic attack! Uh oh, here it comes again! ... breathe... breathe... breathe...

- It may seem overwhelming now, but things just have a way of working themselves out.

I agree, it always works out. It may take a little longer to get things settled but you'll do it. ::continue to breath::::continue to breath::::continue to breath::

Re: Are we crazy?
I would look at the long term picture....is it a house that will appreciate once you fix it up? Can you stay living where you are now until you have most of the remodellng done? Can you do one floor at a time? Can you or husband do any of the work yourselves or are you hiring people?
We just finsihed remodelling our home - only 2000 sq ft but still we did the entire house. We were lucky as my husband did 95% of the work himself and because DD was en route we decided to do it all in one shot....it was worth all the late night trip to lowes and the home depot and the weekends spent picking out bathroom fixtures when I should have been picking out baby furniture - still havent done that!!
I say take a deep breath and go for it. I remember seeing pics of it and it looks fab on the outside, so you will probably love it when its done...
Your baby is so cute she will take some great pics with a hard hat on
Good luck!

It will be great! I need to FM you pics of what my inlaws did. It's amazing what they did to the little rancher they purchased in Oreland. If you need any recommendations for work my FIL and his friends did most of the work themselves since there in that business. Dh's family has an evacuation business.
Good Luck!

Yeah, it's a great fixer-upper that's underpriced so we could make a killing on it once we fix it up. Our first house, our current home, was a fixer-upper and DH did most of the repairs himself and we're making a $100k profit, in only 2 years - not bad for the Philly area. But, our current house is considerably smaller, and we didn't have a baby at the time! We're going to stay at our current house for 2-3 months while we remodel - that was sufficient time for the first house, so I'm hoping we can do it again!

Re: Are we crazy?
We are doing the same thing... With a baby too. LOL! We bought a gorgeous colonial on a quiet cul d'sac street and all basically doing an overhaul.... It is going to look awesome when it is done, but right now it is a train wreck!!!
