Are these things "Reusable" for a second child?

Hoping for some BTDT advice.

I want to register for all gender neutral things we will use again - so all of the gear is gender neutral.

What about these things:
-blankets
-towels
-sleep sacks
-swaddles

Are they typically 'used up' by the time the first child is done between wear-and-tear and frequent washings? Any of these items worth saving for a second baby?

I plan to reuse all of these things for #2, I don't consider them to be "used up". I've heard people say they're getting new washcloths but I don't understand why (maybe I'm missing something). If I feel I don't have enough towels I might get more but I already have more blankets than I ever used and I have a feeling I'll get even more if this LO is a boy.

Yup, I reused all of it. My towels and washcloths got grungy so I did replace some of those, but definitely swaddles and everything else.

We have two boys and are TTC now for #3, even if we have a girl she would be using lots of blue. No point in spending money on things we already have.

actually no those are all reusable. Chat Icon

My son is 4 years old and ds#2 is 7 1/2 months old.

I've been able to reuse all of those things.

ETA: you will need new washclothes and socks.

Blankets: I'm getting new ones b/c I hated the ones I had on my registry. Should've gotten S&S swaddle blankets but I didn't know better. Most of the ones I had survived though, and would be fine to use.

Towels: Depends. Some of DDs washed better than others... but I wound up with about 7 of them, so I still have plenty left. Same goes for washcloths.

Sleep sacks: Yes

Swaddles: Yes

Keep in mind that if you want gender-sepcific stuff, these items are inexpensive enough that you can get new ones if/when you go for Round 2.

I re used everything you mentioned but, ds 1 was a swaddle kid and ds 2 is a sack kid so they were pretty much brand new.

Re: Are these things "Reusable" for a second child?

I reused all of those items but I did get some new wash cloths. The wash cloths got hard and rough after a few months when I used them for DS so I felt the need to replace them for DD. I stopped using them with DS when they became grungy and switched to a bar of soap.

We didn't know DSs gender, so most of his stuff is gender neutral. I plan to reuse EVERYTHING!

Re: Are these things "Reusable" for a second child?

I saved all of those things from DS in case I had another boy. But I am having a girl so I will be getting all new ones. I don't want her in all blue lol
